Cooper Owen is proud to present a unique one of a kind John Lennon self portrait, an original oil painting, painted as a collage assignment by Lennon in 1958.

The painting depicts a very intriguing self portrait as was done in art projects at the time. Lennon studied with fellow student Sutcliffe and best friend who was an inspiration of style and art to Lennon in the early days of his make up. John regarded Stuart as his brother - the similarities of style is obvious. This Lennon abstract is unique and an extremely desirable piece of modern musical art by a great master of sound.

It was whilst studying at Liverpool College of Art that John Lennon met both Stuart Sutcliffe and his first wife Cynthia Lennon.
